Abstract: In this paper, we consider two Markovian queues in parallel with optional jockeying model, wherein the customers can join the queues with some probabilities and after joining the queue, can switch from one queue to another queue for faster services or may stay back in the same queue. The jockeying is a natural customer strategy and assumes a key role in areas such as grocery stores, amusement parks, computer networks, and retail outlets, where multiple checkout lines or service counters are available. We assume that the arrivals are Poisson, each of the exponential servers has his own queue. The model's steady state solution is discovered using the matrix geometric approach. Further, multiple system performance measures are obtained and a cost optimisation problem is taken into consideration. Graphs and tables are used to display the numerical outcomes.
