Title: Invariance analysis across industry sub-groups using the end user computing satisfaction instrument

Abstract: Reliable comparisons on end user satisfaction could be drawn through invariance analysis when different applications and population sub-groups used a standardised instrument. The present study tested the measurement invariance of the end user computing satisfaction (EUCS) instrument among the industry sub-groups of a university, a manufacturing organisation, and a hospital in order to consider the scale as a standard instrument to measure the end user satisfaction in information technology and its applications. The invariance of user satisfaction based upon the population sub-groups of age, gender, and work experience and management position were also tested across these industry sub-groups. The EUCS instrument was found to be robust for the measurement of the first order factors of end user satisfaction, content, accuracy, format, ease of use and timeliness. However, the analysis revealed that the instrument required revision of the factors for the measurement of 'end user satisfaction'.
