Abstract: Based on the vehicle-track coupled dynamics, a vehicle-track coupled model for the road-rail fire fighting vehicle is set up. The random vibration characteristics of the vehicle-track coupled model are compared with those of the traditional vehicle model regarding the track as a rigid foundation. Some field measures are done to verify the two models. The experimental test results and the numeral simulation results indicate that the traditional vehicle model is only fit to study the vibration performances of car body and low frequency vibration characteristics of wheel-rail, and very serious errors will be produced when researching high frequency vibrations. Whereas the vehicle-track coupled model can be suitable for investigating the random vibration features of the vehicle and the track within the whole frequency domain.
