Abstract: Load balancing is a technique to improve the performance of virtual machines in a cloud environment. The load balancing algorithm tries to divide the total workload fairly among all the nodes, to ensure the optimum use of available resources. There exists many load balancing techniques in cloud computing environment. Many researchers have suggested different techniques to solve the load balancing problem. This research paper is a simulated analysis of selected existing load balancing algorithms in a cloud computing environment. In this simulated analysis, various load balancing metric parameters were used to evaluate the performance and trust of existing load balancing algorithms. Ultimate aim of this paper is to help in the design of new algorithms by analysing the merits and demerits of various existing algorithms.
