Medical and healthcare informatics is an interdisciplinary and scientific field. It deals with developing and applying advanced methods in order to better understand and improve healthcare via the diagnosis, treatment and prevention of disease, illness, injury and other physical and mental impairments in human beings.
This special issue will explore theoretical, practical and technical issues in the evolution of medical informatics. Research on applications of prevention, prediction and prognosis topics is welcome. Practical experiences and experiments in using business intelligence, machine learning and data mining with healthcare information technologies are also welcome. We look forward to contributions from academics, researchers and educators worldwide.
The issue will carry revised and substantially extended versions of selected papers presented at the Second International Conference on Medical & Health Informatics 2018 (ICMHI 2018) and First International Conference on Healthcare Service Management 2018 (ICHSM 2018), but we are also inviting other experts to submit articles for this call.
Suitable topics include, but are not limited, to the following:
- Medical and healthcare informatics
- Cloud computing and big data
- Health/medicine informatics education
- Risk evaluation and modelling for medicine and healthcare
- Knowledge abstraction, classification and summarization
- Patient safety and clinical outcomes
- Big data analytics for medicine and healthcare
