Abstract: This study has modified the definition of the 'innovation ability' on the basis of the experts' comments. Moreover, this study has tried to find the additional linkages of the theory by applying Paladino's conceptual framework (which is applicable in product sector) in the educational context. Furthermore, current study has suggested introducing a new variable as a moderator on the nature of the relationship between market orientation and innovation ability. Additionally, this study has proposed eight propositions in the context of academic context. To achieve the objectives of this study four in-depth interviews have been conducted, and content analysis was used to analyse the data. The finding of this study demonstrated that Paladino's framework to measure 'innovative ability' is applicable in service context particularly in the education sector. This study has contributed significantly to theory by identifying three additional factors that can be used to measure innovation ability of business school, i.e.: 1) management openness; 2) innovative leader; 3) administrative and financial autonomy. Limitation and future research direction are discussed here.
