Abstract: The technologies of telecommunications have already converged to the point where they can no longer be considered separate, according to the author, Chairman of AT&T. The demand and opportunities for the new services that can be offered using the new technologies should not now be held back by debate on standardization issues. The potential customers of the ||Information Age|| expect harmonization, compatibility, simplicity and competition in provision of services.
