Abstract: Knowledge management processes result from interaction among organisational members and organisational interactions with its environment. Organisational culture provides the social context in which these interactions contribute to knowledge management processes in the organisation. Culture influences KM processes and presents several challenges to the success of KM processes within the organisation. This study takes into consideration the influence of organisational culture dimensions on KM processes. The researchers have taken into consideration two higher educational institutions (HEIs) - one from India and another one from the USA. The two institutions have accredited programs at the graduate and undergraduate level. An attempt has been made to analyse the influence of various cultural dimensions on KM processes in these institutions that have different countries of origin. From the study, Organisational culture dimensions influence KM processes in HEIs. There are similarities and differences between the two HEIs considered for the study. These similarities and differences are presented in the conclusions.
