Abstract: This paper focuses on strategies, processes and technological tools, which are the main components of a knowledge management programme. In such a continuously changing business environment, the most important aspects to take into consideration concern the identification, the coordination and the allocation of strategic resources and, in particular, of knowledge assets. With the aim of exploiting the available knowledge resources for the achievement of strategic goals, a new knowledge management framework is suggested. We describe the necessary steps in order to formulate and implement a knowledge strategy, analysing the primary role of technological tools and techniques. Specific attention is directed to the reciprocal influence existing among knowledge strategies, processes and technologies.
