Development of a network environment to offer discrete responses to complex problems: the case of breast cancer in Mexico City cases

Abstract: In this paper the case of a network environment developed to attend the explosive increase of breast cancer in women more than 40 years old in Mexico City. Since the morbidity for this disease develops aggressively, the attention of the first contact clinics and of the first and second level hospitals was not good enough and additional efforts were required to attract women to early diagnostics. This was found during the development of projects for the operation of a series of hospital located mammographic scanners and a series of mobile units functioning as the main attractors for the female population.
