Technology and business development

Abstract: Addressing the 'Technology and the city' conference on the development of inner cities, the author outlines the scope for economic growth through the support and promotion of advanced technology developments. These developments can be conveniently located in inner cities, and he expresses the view that no urban development programme would be complete without a suitable science park or 'technopark'. He also outlines his views on the need for strategic alliances between industry and government to ensure a share in potential world growth.
