Abstract: Rapidly-changing technologies are changing the rules of business for many US corporations. New management approaches are needed to better couple business strategy and technology, and to offset the impact of short-term financial perspectives. The paper discusses the development of these approaches in a major US corporation, and their application to the corporate research laboratory.
