Guest Editor: Hossam A. Gabbar, University of Ontario Institute of Technology, Canada

The future of energy supply is tightly linked with the progress in electricity grid. Smart grid is determined to be the future technology for green hybrid energy supply. This special issue aims at disseminating the latest smart grid technologies, methods, and systems from different views through the analysis and design of the different processes that are involved in smart grid engineering.

The special issue is aimed at researchers from academia and research institutions and professionals from industry, government offices, energy producers, and energy users. It will provide valuable collections of original research results and review articles that will facilitate the move towards future smart grid.

Subject Coverage
  • Smart grid planning and design
  • Smart grid component technology design
  • Smart grid optimisation of operation and maintenance
  • Risk and reliability analysis of future smart grids
  • Safety and control design of future smart grid
  • Smart grid security
  • Smart grid and renewable energy supply chains
  • Electricity grid technology design and assessment
