Abstract: The present study conducted a bibliometric analysis of the literature on Industry 4.0 and sustainable energy. The Web of Science database was utilised, covering 1994 to 2023, with the software VOSviewer and CiteSpace employed to extract the findings. The analyses encompassed co-authorship, citation, co-citation, and keyword analysis. The countries with the highest number of documents and citations were China and the USA. Huazhong University of Science and Technology and the Chinese Academy of Sciences emerged with the most published documents among the institutions. Productivity authors were Gunther Reinhart and Jongpil Jeong. The most cited works, Chu and Majumdar (2012) and Sisinni et al. (2018), were prominent and published in highly influential journals. Among the most cited authors, Arun Majumdar and Steven Chu stood out. It contributes by mapping the collaboration among different authors, institutions, journals, and countries in the literature, thereby guiding researchers toward unexplored topics.
