Investigation of the location of secondary storage warehouses in the inventory delivery planning problem considering road conditions

Abstract: Earthquakes are one of the most alarming disasters. This is because we do not have enough knowledge about earthquakes, the prediction technology is not yet developed, and the damage is enormous. In this study, we develop an inventory delivery planning model for the logistics of lumber, a building material, in order to achieve early recovery of buildings damaged by earthquakes. The proposed model takes into account the uncertainty of demand and road conditions, and deals with them using stochastic programming. In addition, a secondary storage warehouse is set up between the delivery base and demand points, where the wood can be processed. The purpose of this study is to conduct a sensitivity analysis of the proposed model to confirm the validity of the model, and then to conduct numerical experiments on the location of secondary storage warehouses at several candidate locations and discuss the results.
