Abstract: The increased impact of landslides, especially in emerging countries, is largely related to population growth, increasing infrastructure and human activities in landslide-prone areas. Such a problem incited us to investigate for new solutions that detect the early signals preceding a landslide. The system we propose is designed around special sensors that capture each real time change in the soil of the studied field. These changes are sent toward processing modules that computes the real time Bishop based factor of security and compares it with limit values. Carried experimentations showed significant response of the proposed system before slide surface is formed which gave enough time to take appropriate procedures in order to prevent eminent landslide.
