Abstract: In this study of wastewater treatment, the effect of flow-rate, BOD5 and other design parameters (MLSS, mean cell-residence time, etc.) on aeration tank dimensions, investment amount and energy cost has been investigated. The relations among these parameters are represented with mathematical equations, which could be useful in new plant design and in the estimation of investment and energy costs.
