Abstract: Wireless sensor network is a combination of distributed sensor node at ad-hoc infrastructure. Whenever data is transmitted over wireless sensor network, there is more chance of some fault due to wormhole attack during data aggregation. There exist various wormhole detection techniques that do not focus on how to deal when packet is dropped due to wormhole. A great amount of research, time and money have been devoted to improving existing drawbacks of wormhole detection technique. In this paper, we have proposed and evaluated an algorithm that detects the wormhole attack during data aggregation with the help of the common neighbouring information which is a lightweight technique.
