Abstract: With the rapid development of large- and medium-scale biomass energy utilisation in Jiangsu Province of China, to explore the potential of biomass energy resources availability becomes increasingly necessary. This paper analyses the biomass energy resources within Liyang City of Changzhou and designs a referral information system based on MapX software provided by Mapinfo GIS platform. The system is secondarily developed according to practical demand and achieves many functions of professional GIS software such as amplification, dwindling, scale enquiry, point enquiry, thememap and so on. The enquiry system will provide valuable reference to energy and environmental policies or relevant biomass energy enterprises.
