Abstract: A brief overview of each Reverse Engineering step is presented in the paper. Complex freeform model was chosen intentionally in order to determine accuracy level of the whole RE process, using our laboratory equipment. Selected model can be very challenging task regarding to every single step in the RE- process, especially at dimensional verifications process. Accurate and fast results are dependent on good hardware equipment and the newest software exploitation. At dimensional verification of freeform surfaces exists some difficulties how to define deviations between the numerical models. Fact is that no single point from the each model can be used as a marker. Usually, only best fit comparison of two numerical models can be made. We try to demonstrate two different ways to determine deviations between two numerical models (direct and indirect mode). Due to complex surface of the model, some other findings are presented as well. [Received 10 November 2005, Accepted 19 January 2007]
