Abstract: Anti-lock braking system (ABS) is an automobile safety system that has been designed to achieve maximum deceleration by preventing the wheels from locking up and avoiding uncontrolled skidding. In this paper, a bench-based ABS test principle was proposed, which can provide different surface adhesion coefficient dynamically for four wheels. And the simulation model consists of the vehicle model, wheel model, braking force model, and tyre-road model, was established to verify the principle. The simulation experiments on a variety of simulated road conditions are carried out. And the comparative analysis between the ABS bench detection model and ABS road test model is accomplished. The comparative analysis indicated that the simulation curves of the bench detection method and those from road test model are highly consistent in the changing trend under different braking conditions, which verified the correctness and feasibility of the proposed bench detection scheme.
