Abstract: The model to evaluate is a model for the preservation of digital evidence-based institutions of criminal investigations where it is essential to preserve evidence that has characteristics of the environment with the purpose of increasing the rate of admissibility of the evidence in court. This article aims to evaluate the model and its impact in terms of security, admissibility, and long-term preservation characteristics. We respond to the following research question: Does the model, implemented in a software application for a case study, raise the admissibility of digital evidence in court? Thus, a software application is developed, the unit of study is defined, and the results are analysed. The study determined that the model, when implemented properly and following the guidance of implementation of the model, raises the admissibility of digital evidence in court.
