Abstract: The paper presents a novel technological system to support wound care at a distance. The major challenges in chronic wound healing treatment are aging population, shortages of expert doctor, long queue, treatments delay, rising cost and time. Our objective is to develop the tele-wound technology network (TWTN) for chronic wound assessment and monitoring in rural and urban areas. TWTN system model transfers chronic wound image between a patient and clinician via smartphone. TWTN framework would be perceived as the combination of wireless body sensor network, smartphones, cloud computing and advanced communication technology. In this paper, we have developed the online database in metadata format. The patients' outcomes can be improved, supports user mobility, reduced hospitalisation, manage extensive medical data, provides continuity care, minimise the risk and reducing healthcare cost and time. Moreover, this would be a complete solution for wound care and monitoring at any time and any place.
