Abstract: Due to high levels of human-computer interaction, mobile terminal APPs (Applications, APP in the following text) based on intelligent mobile phones and tablet PCs have become favourable currently. Since large amounts of information are transmitted via APPs, information acquisition has become easier. Users predominantly interact with APPs via touch and vision. Thus, APP interfaces must be visually appealing in order to be competitive. In this paper, fuzzy theory was used to investigate the effects of APP interface facets on emotional semantics of user preferences. Firstly, the facets of the APP interfaces affecting user preferences were determined. Then, the relationships among the APP interface factors and user preferences were determined by analysing the influential facets and user preference fuzzy semantic functions. The results indicate that many of the user preferences affect their selections of certain APPs. Thus, the facets affecting users' preferences could be used as a reference when in designing APP interfaces.
