Abstract: The existing performance measurement tool set for green operations is growing but seems inadequate to gauge green supply chain measures (GSCM) comprehensively. Several tools, like multi criteria decision making (MCDM), activity-based costing (ABC), balance scorecard (BSC) and life cycle analysis (LCA) are being used. In view of this, a systematic literature review has been carried out with keywords of performance measurement, green supply chain, supply chain performance measurement and green supply chain performance measurement, which yielded 1,432. Later on, 112 research papers, proceedings are shortlisted having high significance and citation index. Three-tier classification is adopted to encompass scope, methodology and focus. Since prevailing performance measurement tool set for environmental operations is inadequate to assess GSC comprehensively, need for single tool for GSCPM for planning, execution, assessment and management is identified. The present study classifies set of variables into operational, economic and environmental. It also provides systematic research guidelines and managerial implications.
Keywords: green supply chains; green SCM; GSCM; supply chain performance; supply chain management; performance measurement; literature review; operational variables; economic variables; environmental variables.
