Abstract: This paper provides insights into North Carolina Central University's (NCCU) holistic approach in deploying cloud computing, specifically Virtual Computing Lab (VCL), to engage and strengthen science, technology, engineering and mathematics (STEM) in university and K-12 students, faculty and communities. This was accomplished by addressing three critical, interdependent environments. VENTURE: Virtualization - Enabling New Technologies to Unify Research and Education's focus is on fortifying the VCL initiative at North Carolina Central University in breadth and depth. VICTORY: Virtualization - Information Communication Technology Outreach to Re-energize Youth's focus is on engaging and emerging K-12 students into a technology rich environment where they have access to software applications and tools that support and expand the classroom environment. VOICE: Virtualization Outreach to Increase Community Equity's focus is on the education and training of communities through the use of technology to help solve issues and revitalise the environment in which we live.
