Abstract: This paper presents a simple maximum power point tracking (MPPT) method using stator flux orientation control for doubly fed induction generator (DFIG). The modelling of doubly fed induction generator (DFIG) is introduced. Active and reactive power control is achieved. A control law is synthesised using PI controllers. The PI controllers are designed to guarantee minimum overshoot using particle swarm optimisation (PSO). The proposed technique is simulated by using MATLAB/Simulink package. The results given show an excellent performance of the proposed technique.
