Abstract: The creative industries are based on renewable resource which is the human as the main asset that characterise almost all its sectors. This paper will discuss the findings from the research conducted regarding the development of creative industries in the city of Bandung, particularly regarding issues in education system. The research used a mix of research tools consist of desk study and in-depth interviews and has selected 18 industry practitioners, seven arts organisations figures and six government officials as respondents. The research then explored three important schools of thought regarding education system as a way to explore how the same issue is explored in different context. We look at other contexts to learn their experiences and apply whenever appropriate within the context of Bandung. On a practical level the research expected to contribute ideas and recommendations to various stakeholders to develop strategies in improving and developing the education system.
