Abstract: This article aims at drawing strategic priorities of the main researches challenges related to carbon nanotubes (CNTs) materials and their related polymer nanocomposites. The fundamental structure/property correlations, manufacturing techniques and applications are discussed in-depth. Many reported breakthroughs in terms of CNTs dispersion in polymer matrices, are amongst the highlighted promising iteration toward the true commercial application of nanocomposites. Finally, the large-scale innovative production techniques are also reported, which foresees sustainable and long-term industry investment. This article is addressed to researchers in the field of nanotechnology, investors and policy makers.
