Abstract: Having discussed in previous chapters the question of CO2 accumulation and the various types of environmental feedback that pollution can induce, we turn to the interrelations between atmospheric waste disposal, capital accumulation and economic growth. There is a further extension of results in a more specific context in Chapter 8. After specifying a neoclassical growth model, which incorporates both waste flows and pollution abatement, we check for equilibrium and balanced expansion paths before and after the aggregate level of pollution is socially regulated.

Keywords: pollution; economic growth; greenhouse gases; CO2 emissions.
