Abstract: Chemical bath depositions of Cu2S and Ag2S thin films have been carried out. Cu2S films were deposited using triethanolamine and ethylenediaminetetraacetic acid as complexing agents. Band gap, resistivity and thickness measurements were made on these samples, and their characteristics compared and evaluated in respect of their uses in photovoltaic and architectural applications. Similar studies have been conducted on Ag2S films prepared using sodium thiosulthate as complexing agent. Details of the deposition procedures for these materials are presented.
