Title: The Danube Delta - an avian paradise

Abstract: Lying in the south-eastern part of Romania, the Danube Delta is the twenty - second biggest in the world. It is a natural paradise with a remarkable variety of species - more than 1600 species of plants and trees, more than 300 species of birds and more than 100 species of fish, including sturgeons - caviar producers. The Danube Delta is the newest Romanian relief and is protected against the industrialization progress. However, since the end of the 19th century, humans have exerted destroying influences on the habitat in the form of navigation, forestry, agriculture, reed operation, fishing and the shooting of harmful considered species.
