Title: Energy: an essential input for Mexican productivity growth

Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to build a Cobb-Douglas Production Model considering capital, labour, and energy as the main inputs, in order to identify the role of energy, investment, and new technology in Mexican Productivity Growth over the period 1965-2002. The estimation of this model shows that energy consumption is essential for future economic growth.
