Title: A study on regional knowledge management model and role of government

Abstract: Based on the characteristics of region, this paper discusses regional knowledge management model. The model includes three elements: knowledge innovation, knowledge proliferation and the basic infrastructure. The basic task of regional knowledge management is to establish the infrastructure for regional innovation, manage the process of innovation and proliferation by using various management means, so as to increase the competitive power and cooperative power of the entire region. The important issue in the model of regional knowledge management is the clear role that the government should play in this process. Of particular importance is government|s service willingness and spirit to help.
