Abstract: Modern information technologies (IT) are radically changing the training environment. In internal training they provide new possibilities for organising the training function, and they can offer better possibilities for utilising the different resources for training. They can also have positive impacts on the corporate culture. Training by modern IT can also provide organisations with new possibilities for creating long-lasting relationships with suppliers, middlemen and customers, as well as for |bundling| training as an integral part of the products and services. Thus, training by modern IT should be regarded mainly as a strategic choice which can open new avenues for organisations.

Keywords: training strategy; service strategy; information technology; customer training; employee training; networks; computers.
