Title: Application of total quality management concepts to a business school

Abstract: The Total Quality Management (TQM) wave has been sweeping the nation. Its implementation is not restricted merely to industry, but has seeped into all sectors, including the educational sector. This paper outlines the initiation of the application of Total Quality Management in an academic department and the research centre of a business school over a period of one year. The entire process brought out a keener awareness of the goals of the school and the departments, with a strong focus on the needs of ||customers-constituents|| of the departments and pilot projects applying TQM concepts to selected key activities.
