Title: Adaptive optics for wavefront shaping and analysis

Abstract: This brief address sees adaptive optics as a technology for wavefront and beam shaping in nearly real time by phase adaptation and compensation. It suggests that adaptive optics has great potential in the fields of beam shaping and wave front analysis. Advantages and applications are indicated.
