Abstract: The purpose of this paper is to show, through the analysis of a case study, how the systematic adoption and implementation of a strategic evaluation methodology (the Balanced Scorecard approach, created within an absolutely non-health context), for the organisation of an image diagnostics service, can assist it to evolve. On the one hand, it allows the creation, in the healthcare field, of a path of rationalisation and integration between relationships and procedures, and on the other hand it highlights the need for organisational changes in a context that, even when introducing a strong element of complexity, keeps anchored to basically chaotic evolution dynamics.
