Abstract: An investigation has been carried out in which recycled rubber granulates are added to damp rectangular tubes. A series of experiments have been carried out on the tube filled at different rates of filling. A model for calculating the displacement-force frequency responses has been derived by means of the Dynamic Stiffness Method (DSM) taken into account the assumption of internal resonance in quarter wavelength in granular material. Agreement between measured and calculated results is acceptable to permit estimation of complex wave-speed of granular material. Finally, we compare the quantified wave-speeds and their loss factors with experiments.
