Abstract: In the rapidly evolving landscape of online education, this paper explores the potential of Next.js, a modern programming framework, to address the limitations of existing e-learning platforms. The study begins by establishing a theoretical foundation, clarifying the concept of e-learning platforms and describing their inherent advantages and disadvantages. It continues with a comparative investigation of the financial costs of Greek universities for the use of the e-class platform. Then, based on a comprehensive review of current educational platforms used both in Greek and international universities, it identifies specific shortcomings that hinder user experience and engagement. Finally, it presents suggestions for improvement that will result from a platform with Next.gs implementation.
