Abstract: This study investigates the internal and external environment of primary school units using the SWOT analysis tool. It explores how strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats interact and influence strategic planning in education. A qualitative research approach was adopted to capture the views of teachers and school leaders regarding the role of the environment in shaping school strategy. The sample was selected through non-probability sampling, and data were analysed using content analysis techniques. The findings revealed a common understanding among participants about the key factors affecting schools. Emphasis is placed on the value of collaboration among all educational stakeholders and the crucial role of leadership in improving school quality and forming a clear strategic vision. The research also highlights the need to align educational practices with innovation to foster a creative learning environment. Overall, the study suggests that utilising SWOT analysis can help schools design effective policies and actions to enhance their educational outcomes.
