Abstract: This study mainly determines how much a customised product specification can be modified. To achieve this determination, a regression model is applied through the variables defined as: 1) sale price; 2) delivery time; 3) product quality. Considering these assumptions, the first step of the method is to perform a selection of the most important characteristics to the customisation. Subsequently, with these characteristics selected, an analysis is made through the regression model to verify the impact of one of the variables in the product configuration. The logic of the method is developed from the perspective of partial least squares (PLS) regression. The results demonstrate that the model allows defining the elasticity of the customised product specification depending on the organisation's business focus. The exemplification of the method is performed by means of an analysis case for handcarts. The main theoretical contribution of the paper is a methodology applied to the determination of the quality in mass customised products.
