Abstract: The present research looks at marketisation from a broad perspective, focusing on the literature that has been immersed over time. This research aims to use bibliometric analysis to condense multiple studies related to marketisation into a single publication that not only provides knowledge about the advancement of the research area but also develops an ulterior motive for the future. A total of 335 research articles were considered for three decades. The following bibliometric procedures were conducted by implementing the VOSviewer open-source software: citation analysis, co-citation analysis, and co-occurrence of author keywords. The study also identifies the most prevalent themes emerging from the literature on marketisation: 'marketisation as a strategy for poverty reduction', 'marketisation in the pedagogy precinct', and 'the role of marketisation in infrastructure framework'.

Keywords: marketisation; bibliometric analysis; VOSviewer; citation analysis; co-citation analysis; poverty reduction; pedagogy precinct; infrastructure development.
