Abstract: This study examines the role of e-government in combating corruption in BRICS nations (Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa), emphasising their importance as emerging economic allies. Using secondary data from 2000 to 2022 from Transparency International, the World Bank, and the UN, the study employs a panel random effect model. The independent variables include the UN e-government development index, government effectiveness, rule of law, and GDP per capita growth, while the corruption perception index serves as the dependent variable. Results show that government effectiveness and rule of law significantly suppress corruption, but the e-government index is statistically insignificant, highlighting the need for enhanced e-government maturity. Recommendations include investing in digital infrastructure, strengthening public sector capacity to implement e-government, fostering partnerships with private entities and international organisations, and promoting transparent governance. These steps can bolster e-government's role in curbing corruption and improving governance in BRICS countries.
