Abstract: In this paper, we suggest a generic reengineering methodology for the organised redesign of the electoral process to an e-electoral process. Based on the hypothesis that the electoral process has been through a |silent| reengineering phase, we present the process reengineering concepts that can be used to depict the redesign of the electoral process to an e-electoral process through the use of ICTs. After reviewing existing business process reengineering (BPR) methodologies, the use of BPR in government provided services and existing electoral process arrangements, we provide a five-stage outline of the suggested reengineering methodology. Finally, we discuss the benefits of its implementation and suggest areas for its prospective application.
