Abstract: Relying on the conceptual framework, this research focuses on the role of the relational network in HR managers' experience of emotions when making two types of strategic decisions: solving a strategic problem and strategic planning. The empirical part of the investigation is set in Croatia and involves a sample of registered HR managers. The objectives are to examine whether HR managers in the Croatian business environment experience emotions differently depending on the number of employees in a company, and the existence of a confidant (a friendly colleague at work), as well as to explore the relationship of the company size and confidant existence to the job satisfaction. The findings show that HR managers' emotional experiences differ in some aspects regarding the company's size, the number of employees and the existence of a confidant. Theoretical and practical implications are discussed.
