Abstract: Supply chain resilience (SCR) is the ability of a supply chain to maintain, resume, and recover operations in the aftermath of a severe disruptive event, which is one of the key factors within the field of supply chain management. This study reviews and summarises the existing literature on SCR and proposes a conceptual model for the evaluation of SCR from a resilience capacity perspective. Measurements for three resilience capacities were developed and data were collected from supply chain managers across different industries in the USA to evaluate the proposed research model. This research provides a new framework for the evaluation of SCR in terms of three lines of defence from the empirical perspectives and provides the companies with a useful and substantial tool in dealing with potential threats or disruptions from those supply chain risks.
