Abstract: This study focuses on two scheduling problems with learning effect and job deterioration in seru production system (SPS), in which seru production is a new production mode originated from Japan that can achieve flexibility, efficiency, and fast response in practice. The processing time is confirmed by its position in the schedule sequence according to learning effect and job deterioration, and the objectives are minimising the total completion/waiting time, total absolute differences in completion/waiting time, and total seru load, respectively. An exact solution method is presented to reformulate two seru scheduling problems into assignment problems, and the proof of these two problems are polynomial time solvable is also provided. The optimal schedules for proposed two seru scheduling problems are presented in detail, and the results indicate that the proposed exact solution method is effective, and it can handle larger instances with 5 serus and 30 jobs.
