Abstract: The current research scenario necessitates an integrated supply chain, as integration would result in improved transparency and flexibility and reduced waste. To develop an integrated supply chain, efforts are made to build a qualitative model based on an Indian generic medicine company's case study. Field survey, interview and brainstorming sessions identified 20 essential issues that function in integration. A structural model using the interpretive structural modelling (ISM) technique has been developed to show the interrelationships among the issues of generic pharmaceutical supply chain (GPSC). Results reveal that the total cost to the customer has been driven by time to fulfil customers' orders, vendor selection process and transportation cost. Warehouse design consumes maximum time, cost and resources driven primarily by quality control, monitoring and stock-keeping units.
