Abstract: Efficient processes and cost savings are keywords for the success of today's businesses. Ensuring good warehouse management is part of the strategy, since the lack of organisation, planning and control can have a direct impact on results. Typically, the focus of managers is on supplying production and reducing delays in delivering raw materials. However, the lack of control on the arrival dates of the material may contribute to the increase in logistical costs. This paper proposes a heuristic for scheduling raw material deliveries, based on the volume and financial value of orders, using the backward scheduling technique. Through a case study in a telecommunications company, its application was simulated revealing that, in collaboration with suppliers, it is possible to obtain improvements in the management of warehouse human resources with the prior scheduling of material deliveries; in space management and in financial management.

Keywords: warehouse management; receiving process; early deliveries; lean warehousing; planning; JIT delivery; backward scheduling.
